President William Henry Harrison

Served in 1841

Lived 1773-1841

Party: Whig

Denomination: Episcopalian

President William Henry Harrison served the nation as our ninth President from March of 1841 to April of 1841 before his death from complications from pneumonia. At a mere 31 days he holds the tragic distinction of being the shortest serving President of the United States. His death also caused a constitutional crisis as the first President to die in office. His Vice-President, John Tyler would become his successor and the tenth president.

President Harrison was a vestryman (Anglican Church Lay Leadership) and it is said he bought a Bible the day after his inauguration to the presidency.
